The Original BNR17, Straight From the Source
BNRThin is made by AceBiome, the Korean company that developed the Lactobacillus gasseri BNR17 strain in the first place. It's the same BNR17 you'll find in Dr. Mercola's Biothin, and it plays the same role in Dr. Davis's SIBO yogurt, fermenting alongside L. reuteri.
Why It's Here
Biothin has been out of stock at Amazon and iHerb for months, and readers keep writing in to ask what to use instead. BNRThin is the closest swap there is: same strain, same 10 billion CFU per capsule, and it ferments into a mild, creamy yogurt.
Before You Buy
- Strain: L. gasseri BNR17, 10 billion CFU guaranteed per capsule
- Pack: 30 capsules (some listings are multi-packs, so check which one you're adding to your cart)
- Check the label: it should say BNR17. A generic "L. gasseri" is usually a different strain and won't behave the same in your yogurt
- Pricier than Biothin, but you only need it to start. After the first batch, reculture from your own yogurt
How It Fits Your Yogurt
Open a capsule and whisk it into your starter slurry with the L. reuteri, exactly as you would with Biothin. Ferment at 106°F for 36 hours, then save a little of each good batch to seed the next one.
