Troubleshooting
White film on top (kahm yeast): This harmless yeast can form on the surface. Simply skim it off with a clean spoon. It won't harm your fire cider.
Mold (fuzzy, colored growth): If you see true mold (usually green, black, or pink), discard the batch. This happens if ingredients weren't fully submerged. Next time, ensure everything stays covered by vinegar.
Too spicy: Dilute with more water or apple juice when consuming. You can also add more honey to balance the heat.
Not spicy enough: Let it ferment longer, or add more cayenne to your next batch.
